Just got back from an amazing time with the family in Key West, FL. The last time I was in Key West, my scout troop led by my dad went to the keys for SCUBA certification. So I guess I was about 16 years old. Let's do the math, that would be 22 years ago! Actually, it seemed like I had just left yesterday. Many memories began to pop up as my family and I snorkeled the pristine waters off of Key West. Back then, we stayed at Sea Base, a BSA owned and operated camp in a town called Islamorado. Actually while in Key West, I was able to talk with some scouts who were participating in the same program that I was in at the time. They were form OHIO. Key West was laid back and my truly favorite part was walking around the pier looking at the boats. I love boats and airplanes. I could do this all day. In heaven, I am going to live on a boat in Key West. We were able to eat at a great restaurant overlooking the piers and the sunset was gorgeous. It was the best meal that I have had in a while and the view was priceless. The meal was affordable and we were well pleased. That morning, we went parasailing for only 29 bucks a piece. In VA Beach, double that price! We stayed about 3 days total in Key West and visited the sights and just relaxed! We all miss this place already. We headed back and stopped for a day in St. Augustine which was very beautiful and full of history. This trip was great and I thank Jesus for the opportunity to spend this time with my family now.
This was actually part II of my vacation as my parents treated my whole family (16 of us) to a cruise in Mexico. We left out of Tampa and ventured to the Cayman Islands and then to Cozumel. The Cayman's were great! The water was exactly as the picture books show it. It was great spending the week with everyone and just chillin on the boat and then eating in the afternoon! Well eating all the time. I actually got home and weighed less than when I went. Glory to God the treadmill really does work. Overall, our vacation this year was probably the best ever and we often wonder just how it could get any better but God's creation is neverending with wonder! Our family loves exploring the countryside of America. The most beautiful country in the world.
